Design of the complex derives from the content itself. The
distribution center is a space of interactions and dynamics,
it has functional principles that we have given a design echo
to. The office building, with its monumental facade, turns
to the space in front of it. The flat, raised multi-layered
surface (shading the southern facade) is embraced by the curved
line of the rear facade.
The commercial building stands on a pedestal – a platform
above the basement parking. Towards Brnčičeva Street, we are
creating a lawn with low green and flowering shrubs, which
gives the building a visual pedestal. Despite the fact that
the building has no visual barrier to the road, the sloping
lawn gives it the necessary distance. The monumentality of
the front facade is the primary element of regulating the
perception of arrival. The inscription in the upper right
corner of the facade pulls the dynamics forward and communicates
that the entrance to the complex is from the east. When changing
direction, the
volume of the Square opens, which is a secondary element of
the perception of arrival. The path divides further past the
gatekeeper into the handling areas and towards the production
facility or the office building (via the basement parking
or via the entrance platform).
The given functional and design concept allows for implementation
in a combined skeleton-wall construction system. Along the
columns, the horizontal forces can also be partially taken
over by the southern - flat facade.
The production facility is defined by long horizontals, interrupted
by the doors of the unloading ramps. Rationality imposes a
rectangular shape, which has a functionally conditioned height
regulation.
