Jub research center's purpose is education of users of Jub's
products in their implementation as well as development and
research of plaster facade technologies. Ground floor comprises
an applicative classroom, a two-storey show house and specialized
testing chambers with simulated real and extreme weather conditions.
Upper floors house various laboratories. The center's principal
component is the research facade testing area on south elevation.
16 separate test cells enable on-line measuring of various
parameters and their impact on plaster facade: controlled
temperature, moisture, sunlight and wind speed change. Simultaneously,
testing area represents the main design element of the building
with its varying strong colour scheme. East and west elevations
are subdued, finished in white plaster Jub facades, complete
with white window frames and shades. Northern elevation becomes
a test ground for the newly developed stencilled facade: a
dynamic white pattern is applied over neutral concrete foundation,
enfolding the structure's base into an oscillation of white
points.
