Memorial is dedicated to the three American airmen that lost their lives in 1943, when an American bomber was shot down over Martinje village in Prekmurje, Slovenia. Memorial is conceived as a landscape image, a hill figure of white wings on a gentle slope above Martinje, turning to the sky. Behind it, a marked path leads to Srebrni breg (Silver Hill), the highest top in Prekmurje. Memorial is supplemented by a descriptive column near the road, made of concrete and weathering steel, commemorating the event.
